You can never go home again....

Mom called to confirm that I'm going to South Carolina with my little brother to visit this weekend.

She said to dress nice, 'not like a bum' and mentioned 'no tattoos or piercings'. Something about having nice neighbors and not to scare them. Hehe. Well, mom, since you last saw me I've had my tongue pierced, two ear piercings and you haven't seen the latest tattoo yet. It's just a shame I can't have my nipples pierced before I go up there... she mentioned swimming. :)

The cards in my hand: I've got a good job AND I've quit smoking. As a last resort I will deflect attention to my 23 year old still a college freshman brother.

Can you bring Fred as your new "friend" and roommate ?

"Hi mom, this is my ... friend, Fred."

that would certainly distract from the earring.

I like the new hole in the head. Seeing what a nifty freak you've become gives me hope for my own life. However, I feel obliged to request that you not cause your brother too much discomfort with deflected attention, as I still feel somewhat indebted to him for keeping me sane at Donnelly.

Working at Donnelly is ok in a "I was young and needed the money" kind of way.

He was working there as recently as last fall. 5 years in that place isn't healthy for the brain.

As I recall, your brother never seemed overly concerned about what may or may not have been healthy for his brain.

But 5 years at Donnelly...That's just plain masochism.
