So I got home last night around 8pm. My car vanished sometime between then and 10am.

The apartment complex is checking to see if it can be seen leaving on the security tapes.

The police say if it was stolen as a joyride car, it's probably been abandoned somewhere already. If it was stolen for parts it could be weeks before it turns up, if ever.

I didn't have comprehensive coverage on it, so insurance won't buy me a new one. It was a 13 year old car with a $4500 blue book value. Insuring it for theft in Atlanta would have cost about $1000 a year, so not cost effective.

I'll be taking Marta to work for the rest of the week. I can't get a car loan while I have a mortgage application open, so no buying something new this week. I'm debating if I want to get something new or used when I can.

If anyone knows of a cheap ($1000 or under) car or motorcycle, let me know.

Yah, my first car was stolen. It came back three months later and need of a hellova lot of work. Since that experience I've had full coverage.
