Publishers are talking about putting age-guides on childrens books, and Phillip Pullman, author of the His Dark Materials trilogy is leading the fight against it:

More dumbing down of culture. God forbid a kid read past their "age." Children used to read Dickins. On their own. The language in something like Treasure Island is now "too hard" for kids.
