You know, I love dogs (as pets), but, I think anyone who eats meat and decries some one just cause they happen to eat an animal they find cute and fuzzy, well they're hypocritical.
I couldn't eat dog and I wouldn't want to hear some one tell me they wre having dog that night, but if people want to eat dog, I think we have no right to judge them. I think in return they should have tact and not go braging to me about how they are going to have dog for dinner (basically, they respect my feelings that I like dogs enough I don't like the idea of eating them, and I'll respect that they view it as a food animal and not try to barr them from doing so... long as they aren't taking people's pets to do so).
Would you have a similar reaction to beef- or pork-oil mayonnaise?
I can't think of a single argument against eating dogs that a Hindu couldn't give against eating beef. It doesn't appeal to me, but neither do a lot of things other folks do that I don't consider immoral.
