Dude. Really. It's not that bad. I haven't had a cig since Friday, and I'm not even trying to quit.

I'm sure I'll be fine after tomorrow. It's next time I get drunk that I'll break down.

That's much much tougher than the initial quitting. How hard are you trying this time?

How hard am I trying to quit or how hard am I trying to not get drunk?

It always seems that I lapse after one of our up-till-5am-drinking sessions. When are you coming to visit again? :)

No plans to anytime soon. Parents are coming up here in April, so probably not before June...some law school friends are getting married then. And I am not responsible for your inability to quit smoking :)

The first 72 hours are the WORST WORST WORST.

The second day of the first 3 is the worst. That's where I am right now. All I have to do is ride out another 3 hours of work, then I can go home and drug myself into Xanex-land.

I made it to day 2 about twenty thousand million times before finally making it past one week and I haven't smoked since.

I've made it through the first 72 hours many times before. It's the first 72 seconds after getting drunk where I break down.

The thing that gets me is drinking in a smoky place. Then I want to claw my eyes out (or someone else's, if I see them with cigarettes) and usually I just have to leave.

That, and the gauntlet of smokers at Dragon*Con.

Leave? I just stay and smoke.

I have you beat.... by about 32 years.

Right now, it's either my health or the safety of the public of the greater Atlanta metro area. So, to keep the public safe (read as "so that I won't ascend a clocktower with a high powered weapon"), I will not make any effort right now.

In fact, I don't know when I will. I keep thinking soon, but then I keep thinking that that will only make me fat and alive fat longer, so I stop thinking about it.

you can do it. my sister just quit after about 20 years of smoking a pack a day.
