Missing things
Jul. 28th, 2010 02:08 pmSomewhere in the last four years, I lost something. I thought I was very good about backing up my photos. I kept a spare hard drive with them on it. I burned CDs and DVDs. I pay for an internet backup service.
I went looking for an old photo the other day. One I took at Burning Man back in 2006. It's not on my hard drive. I went looking for my backup CDs. Not on any of those. Not on any of the ones that worked that is.
Somewhere between taking the pictures in 2006 and now, I lost those photos. Between a hard drive crash, two new computers, two moves and god knows what else, they are gone. I managed to grab a few low-res ones off a web gallery I have, but probably hundreds more are gone.
What really scares me, is that I don't know what else is gone. What other events am I forgetting because I lost the photos of them?
