So, as the semester progressed and responsibility waned, I started sleeping late. When I have five minutes to go from waking up to leaving for work, breakfast is an afterthought. As a result of this, I started consuming a lot of those pre-made Slim-Fast in a can things as a 10 second breakfast. Lunch would follow, either grabbed downtown or brought with me.

Somehow, I think my stomach shrunk a bit. It got used to having less food in it. I spent less time being hungry, and more time not thinking about getting food. This continued on into the evenings, when I would sometimes even forget dinner. For example, last night I heated up a bowl of bolognese sauce for dinner. I think it is still in my microwave.

The end result? I've lost about 10 pounds. Haven't noticed? Well, it's only about 2.5% of my body weight, so it's not a lot, realtively speaking. I just find it interesting that I've found out how to diet by forgetting about food. Odd.

Your experience jibes with mine. I previously blogged that I lost 30-some pounds early in the year. The process has stalled recently.

I had a health scare several months back -- what happened was that I would forget to eat for about 12 hours at a time, and my blood sugar dropped. The weight loss is great, but remember to eat a little something every few hours.

Those slimfast/instant breakfast things are great. Even if you don't really feel like eating, you can chug one of those and go on with life.

Another handy snack to keep in a desk drawer are the 1-oz. bags of peanuts. I like the spicy ones. I keep meaning to pick up raw peanuts at the farmer's market and roast my own in my own mix of spices, but I haven't gotten around to it.
