One of my coworkers who lives in East Atlanta sent this out:

"If any Republicans among you have been hoping for a low urban
voting turnout forget about it. The polling place in which I
vote had more people standing in line waiting for the doors to
open than the usual entire day's voting."

Tonight should be interesting.

I hate lines. Next time, I'm doing absentee.

I heard the same thing standing in line at my polling place. I'm hoping for armed insurrection but I don't think we'll get that lucky.

Whatever the case, I'm buying a lotto ticket. I've gambled once already today, maybe I'll come out a winner on one of the two.

I don't know if it's the same polling place as mine... But it took me 75 minutes to go through the line at my East Atlanta polling place. For the primaries, I was #17 on their numbered voters list, and I voted at 1pm.

There were 400 people standing in line when I arrived at 6:30 this morning to my polling place. By the time I got OUT, there were maybe 100 people in line (after a 2 hour wait).

A friend just went during lunch to the same place... no line... no wait.

Traditionally, Democrats vote early. I'm hoping for a big rain today which might keep some of the republicans home from the polls.

I would think this is encouraging to the Democrats.

I haven't gone yet (it's only noon out here).

It says a lot that so many people are getting out and voting...

...probably that we're days away from civil war, but still.

i'm really amazed at how people seem to be bitching about waiting in line to vote. this is the first time in over ten years of being eligible to vote that i've ever had to wait in line.

i find it quite exciting.
