New photo idea

The idea: make a human disco ball.

The process:

1. Get a ton of those useless AOL cds.
2. Break them into little bits.
3. Get a very patient model.
4. Glue little shiny bits all over their body.
5. Photograph it.

How you can help:

1. Give me destroyable CDs. AOL, shitty music, etc.
2. Volunteer to be the model.

You could get a body stocking and glue the bits to it, then have the model put it on. Might be easier than making somebody stand around long enough to get covered in bits of CD and then having to remove them.

i'm thinking that half the fun is gluing things onto a naked person

True, but I bet most of the fun will have worn off by the 500th bit.

I'm with ya there. I just feel sorry the naked person who has to remove them.

I can donate cds
you'll need a much rounder model
will they be hung up and spun??

Start photographing REAL disco balls at the moment to get an idea of how you want to set the scene. I've found that, in general, disco balls make difficult compositions, as they don't 'glitter' on camera.

I love this idea!

I'm quite round - would be suitable for a disco ball...

4.5. Light it. The novelty of laser pointers is generally over, but this could be an exception. A smoke machine would be over the top, but a humidifier might make for interesting laser effects. I wonder how many people have one you can borrow.
