Yesterday was rather busy. First, there was ice cream at Jakes, then there was Highlander, then there was Rocky Horror and then more Highlander.

The day started early with my roommate waking me up at 8am. He had overslept and needed a ride to the airport. So I dragged my sleep-deprived butt to the airport and back.

Off to Jakes for ice cream. They make it fresh and it is damn good. I was a bit disappointed by the root beer float flavor, but the butter pecan was great. It was entertaining to watch everyone in our group go through sugar high and crashdown over the course of an hour.

Then off to Highlander... lots of drinking and stuff. Got some cool pics. Litovka, improbable, violin, fuzbal, Deena, Dennis, mac_finn, lyricsboy and sholladay. I wish I had more of a chance to talk to sholladay. I met her at one of my parties a few years ago and determined that she was cool. Since then I have seen her at several times and always enjoyed talking to her. Alas, the combo of lots of people and loud Highlander conspired to keep us apart.

After inadvertently loosing finn and fuzbal, we hooked up with Ann and Dan at Rocky Horror. The troupe doing it was called Lips Over Dixie and they did a pretty good job. Litovka, violin, Deena and lyricsboy were all virgins, so they got lipstick V's and leid.

Someday I want to conduct a long term psychological study of Rocky Horror troupes. There are a few constant archetypes:

A. The loud guy with ponytail
B. The male slut (usually plays Rocky or Frank)
C. The female slut (usually Colombia or Magenta unless she has serious issues, then she's usually Janet)
D. The pervy old guy who likes the young chicks in underwear
E.- ZZZ. Many, many more...

Afterwards I took the virgins back to the HL for another beer. I realized that I was a big, black-clad bald guy leading three people with red V's on their foreheads and leis around. It must have looked like a field trip for a cult. Litovka hadn't been out dancing in two weeks and was itching for Backstreet, so se and LyricsBoy headed off as I went home to bed...

Ice cream at Jake's?? Is this the same Jake's that used to be next to mellow mushroom near the Ho?? I thought that place closed, I will be happy to hear they just moved, they had yummy desserts!

Jack's Ice Cream is down south on Virginia Highland .. dunno if they were ever anywhere else.

Actually, it is Jakes. They moved out of the Highlander mall a year or two ago. Now they are on N. Highland (or whatever it turns into when you go south on it) right at the bridge over freedom parkway.

No, I was just really on crack (and in a hurry) and somehow managed to typo Jake's as Jack's. Looking back, I wonder what I was on. However, I just got home from some delicious Jake's.. had a scoop of brown sugar vanilla and a scoop of key lime pie. Mmm.
