(no subject)

My first big assignment for digital class. I have to make three images, using inspiration from surrealism.

1. An outdoor scene with things normally found indoors.

2. An indoor scene with things normally found outdoors.

3. A piece of architechture turned inside out.

I'm tosssing ideas around.

For the first, I was thinking of maybe a kitchen in nature. A yard/park with all the standard kitchen appliances in it. Either that or fruits/veggies filled with circutry.

For the second, I'm considering a person in the shower with a drive through window. Someone can be parked outside bitching about their food.

For the third, I have no freaking idea.

I'm open to suggestions on all three. Any ideas, cricicism, volunteers? I'm going to try to shoot stuff Sunday afternoon.

Go with the fruits/veggies with circuitry thing. First of all, it's awesome, second of all, the furniture outside thing has been done to death.

Architecture turned inside-out... my first impulse would be to do a library. Hmm...

I heard on NPR this week that the city of Boston is up in arms about the mayor's plan to do away with the informal parking-space system in which, if you shovel the snow and leave something to mark the spot, it remains yours. Strictly a traditional thing. Often the marker is an outdoor chair. One guy who was interviewed said that someone had marked their space with two dining chairs and a table complete with place settings and candles.

hey, I know where you could do the 3rd one...

Just easy of campus there is a building that the celing and a wall have been removed and it is now a parking lot so technically it is outside in, but it works I believe...let me know if you want to know where

I like the second idea a lot. I worked a drive-thru for several years and could gank you a real drive-thru head-set for the shoot...and if you wanted to get really sassy, I could be naked in the shower wearing nothing but the headset and an authentic Starbucks apron...hahaha....

I am a very literal chick, so I'm stumped by the "architecture turned inside out" thing. I'll swing it past the boy and see if he has any ideas.

Number 3: How about a guy sitting on a commode, reading a paper (which covers his pokey parts, of course). The commode is actually on top of a house, where the chimney would be.

Yes, it's silly.

Wow... the third is tough. Your best bet would be to take some pictures of something indoors.... then find a house or structure upon which you could map it... take the photo of the house and replace the outdoor walls with the indoor walls. The angles for 3 dimensions may require some trickery, and, of course, you need to be pretty careful with the lighting. Ideally, a night-time image of the house itself, replacing the outdoor walls with some dark, incandescent-lit images of the inside walls, and replacing the window with a view of outdoors.

That's about the only thing I can come up with. That's certainly a tricky one.
