Sleepless in Athens

I got 4-5 hours of sleep last night. I woke up, mainlined a pint of coffee an drove to Athens. I spent 5 hours shooting cool photos of cool people. I drove into the boonies in search of a fabled quarry and failed to find it.

Now I sit at Starbucks in downtown Athens caffieneing up. When I got here there were three of the biggest pit bulls I have ever seen sitting out front. Big pits are like Highlander bouncers: good natured, because when you are that big, no sane person is going to start anything.

It is prom night in Athens. Downtown is crowded with kids in gowns and tuxes. A few minutes ago I saw a person of indeterminate gender walking down the street. They were in a tux, had a rainbow Mohawk and a tattooed girl in a short dress on their arm. If prom had people like that when I was a teen I might have gone.

I'm sitting here now waiting for the stims to kick in and the elusive Marilyn to show up.
