Movie musings
Jul. 30th, 2007 02:50 pmThe trailer for the new Beowulf movie is out. It's directed by Robert Zemeckis, written by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary and "stars" Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovitch and Angelina Jolie.
I put stars in quotes, because this is an all-CGI movie and the actors are near-photorealistic renderings of the stars. The US trailer is here.
Here's a low-quality version of the European trailer which contains a few more seconds of a naked, wet, demonic, CGI Angelina Jolie.
This brings up two questions. First, are the cgi actors realistic enough to pass off as real? Or would you be distracted by the fact that the cgi Anthony Hopkins looks almost real.
Second, this means somewhere out there on someones workstation is an ultra-high-res 3d model of a naked Angelina Jolie. Considering how frequently computers are broken into and how often naked celebrities show up on the internet, how long is it before we see completely realistic looking fake Angelina Jolie porn on the net?
