When it takes professional movers 7 hours to move all your crap, it is the universes way of telling you you have too much stuff.
The move started at 8:30am and was done around 3:30pm. That was about four hours longer than I expected it to take, which shows that I am a dumbass.
The cats spent the first 3 hours locked in the bathroom at the old place, whining and crying. Then they spent 30 min in the car, whining and crying. Then they spent 3.5 hours locked in the bathroom at the new place, hiding in the cabinet under the sink, not making a sound. Once we coaxed them out into the new place, Tso wandered around with a look that said "I'm freaking out, man!"
We made a detour to pick up
litovka and went to get her new kitten, Bacon. Bacon is dangerously cute. Seriously, her eyes are a double barrel shotgun of cuteness.
Then it was time to go back to the old place and grab a few things we didn't get in the first trip, like ethernet cables, wine, orchids and silverware.
My router and cable modem have worked fine together for three years, and now all of a sudden my router is retarded.I can only get online with my laptop plugged directly into the cable modem, which means I'm sitting neck-deep in boxes on the floor of the living room. I fixed it! I am a geek god.
I have until Sunday night to clean the crap out of my old place. That's doable. Getting the new place organized should be done by 2017, if I work double shifts.
