Three months ago we got a new director at work. Last week we had a meeting so the new director could explain how she is reorganizing our departments. We had two groups, A and B. She was making it three groups, A, B and C. During the presentation, she listed each person and if they were staying in their group, or moving to a new one. Everyone, except me and my coworker Alex that is. A friend asked "what if someones name isn't up there?" The new director just said "Ask Linda" (our big uberboss).
One heart attack and a brief conversation with the uberboss later, it seems I am being moved to another part of the organization alltogether. My sysadmin duties are being given to someone else, and I'm now a fulltime Remedy developer.
I'm not sure how this will end up. Remedy work is kinda interesting, and not too hard. I will be losing my office, but might get a new one. On the plus side, I got a spiffy new MacBook Pro from work today! I'm typing this on it in fact. :)
So it remains to be seen if I'll come out on top of all this. I could be happier in six months, or I could be more miserable. Raises come down at the end of next month. I'll check back in then.
