Surreal holiday moment #1:

My Cuban father refers to the Little Havana part of Miami as "Spicville" and refuses to speak Spanish to "those people"

Hahaha. I wonder if she meant best doctor or best "colored" doctor. Nani also asked me once, when I mentioned a girlfriend of mine in conversation, if that was my black friend. Oy.

She has also told me that if all the black people have so many problems with America they never should have chosen to come here in the first place. i shit you not.
