Weather.com says a high of 97F today and a heat index near 110F.

Remember those meteor/comet movies of a few years ago? Remember how they said that if a big meteor hit the earth it would blast tons of dust into the air, block out the sun and cause a second ice age? Who knew that was a happy ending?!?

Apparently they are building "the most urban Wal-Mart in the country," at I-75 and Howell Mill Road where the old Castlegate hotel used to be.

"It is planned as part of a mixed-use development, including a second story of retail shops, apartments, streetscaping and decked, hidden parking."

Hey, fans of Anthony Bourdain and Kitchen Confidential: He's got a new show on the Travel Channel. The first episode was called "Why the French don't Suck". :) Also, the TV show based on Kitchen Confidential premieres in a month.
