Diet by distraction
Dec. 17th, 2004 11:27 amSo, as the semester progressed and responsibility waned, I started sleeping late. When I have five minutes to go from waking up to leaving for work, breakfast is an afterthought. As a result of this, I started consuming a lot of those pre-made Slim-Fast in a can things as a 10 second breakfast. Lunch would follow, either grabbed downtown or brought with me.
Somehow, I think my stomach shrunk a bit. It got used to having less food in it. I spent less time being hungry, and more time not thinking about getting food. This continued on into the evenings, when I would sometimes even forget dinner. For example, last night I heated up a bowl of bolognese sauce for dinner. I think it is still in my microwave.
The end result? I've lost about 10 pounds. Haven't noticed? Well, it's only about 2.5% of my body weight, so it's not a lot, realtively speaking. I just find it interesting that I've found out how to diet by forgetting about food. Odd.
