litovka. She has no trouble getting to sleep, but wakes up in the wee hours of the morning. I personally tend to have trouble falling asleep, but sleep through the night. Waking up is always a bitch for me. I have had days when I woke up and panicked because the alarm was not going off. If it wasn't going off, I obviously must have slept through something important.
I've learned a few things over the years about sleep. When I first feel tired, I need to go to bed. If I stay up another half hour, I'll be up all night. Melatonin helps me fall asleep, valerian helps me sleep deeply.
Certain things can keep me from a decent nights sleep, like sunlight. If I go to bed at 7am, and the room is not blacked out, I'll be up at 10am.
Certain foods can keep me from getting a full nights sleep. Decaf coffee still has a ton of acid and can make me wake up around 4am with bad heartburn.
Then there was that Highlander bratwurst melt. I don't know what they put in them, but later that night I was farting so loudly I woke myself up.
How do you sleep?
