Mr Taxman Cometh
Jan. 28th, 2003 02:03 pmThe IRS is really pushing online filing this year. They have worked out a deal where most of the online tax companies are offering free electronic filing to a set of people.
This page has a form that will take your info and point you to the services that you are eligible for. I was eligible for:
CORRECTION: FileYourTaxes.com is offering free filing to all Georgia residents EXCEPT FOR January 30, 2003 through February 3, 2003 and April 12, 2003 through April 15, 2003. Go there on those days, pay the fee.
CompleteTax.com is offering free filing to anyone with an adjusted gross income of $33,000 or less.
The full list of companies is here.
I'd suggest not trusting any one company. I ran my numbers through both of those, and did my numbers by hand and got the same all three times. Don't think I'm reccomending either one, just pointing them out.
