So, I have a Tivo that I share with my neighbor. It works out pretty well that we can record what we like and not crowd each other. One thing I like is the ability to rip the videos off it and download them to my computer. That way we don't need to fight over the TV as often.

I use a DVD viewer on my computer to watch the stuff that comes off Tivo. Since I just bought a new DVD burner I got a new DVD program with it. It has a really cool feature called "time compression". Say you want to watch an hour long program in less than an hour. Set the time compression to 1.2X speed and that 60 minute program is over in 48 minutes. It even changes the pitch so everyone sped up doesn't sound like they are on helium.

What's the point of all this? I'm a couch potato and a huge geek? True. But while I was watching Will and Grace I had a realization. It was funnier when it was 20% faster. Most things are. I will try to figure out ways to apply this to my life.
