I saw someone (Tom Clancy, I think) making an excellent point on CNN. We keep calling terrorists Islamic 'Fundamentalists' or 'extremists'. Islam is like Catholicism in that it states that suicide is a sin. Murder too. Kill yourself or others and go to hell. The people hijacking planes to attack us or blowing up themselves and others and Israel are not doing it for religion. It's a political act. I believe a lot of the reason we think Islam=fanaticism is that the media tends to show us pictures of Arabs when they are talking about terrorism, so most Americans unconsciously associate Arabs, Islam and terrorism. Did we call Tim McVeigh a Christian Fundamentalist Terrorist? Nope. Religion is not why we have terrorism. It's all politics.
