Jun. 21st, 2001 01:16 amHad another job interview today. Went pretty well. Afterwards I went to Home Depot on Ponce to have a few keys made, then to the Borders next door in search of the new Neil Gaiman book, American Gods. The lady at Borders said they had ten on order, but that they hadn't arrived yet. I figured I'd try again tomorrow.
Later in the evening, my friend Becky mentioned she bought the book today.
"WHERE?" I demanded.
"At the Borders on Ponce"
Within moments, roomie and I RAN for the car. We sped through Atlanta, down the darkened Ponce. The clock ticked closer to 11pm. Borders closed at 11pm. I was ready to drive the car through the window to get that book.
Inside Borders we wandered the store, searching. Alicia called Becky at home, interrogating her as to the exact location of the book.
Finally we found it. I read the first 10 pages in line waiting for a chance to pay. I'm going to be obsessed with this for a few days.
